Track Practice

The track meet will take place during the school day so it will not interfere with any other activities outside of school. I will be sending a paper home on Monday, Feb 3rd about when the track meet will take place, what events your child made, and the days your child will have practice. We will begin track practice on Monday, Feb 24th. Practice will take place during the school day from 2:02-2:35. For your child to practice they need to bring athletic shoes, gym shorts or leggings, and a comfortable shirt. I will let your child know if practice changes. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd at Gadsden City's track starting at 9:30. If it is supposed to rain that day the make-up day is set for Thursday, April 3rd.

Mondays: 800, Standing long jump, & Running long jump

Tuesdays: 400 & 200 M

Wednesdays: Relay Team

Thursdays: 800, 400, & softball throw

Fridays: 50 & 100 M

If your child comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the City Meet they are able to attend the District Meet which will be held on TBA in TBA. From there if they come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd they are able to attend the State Meet which will be held in Gadsden, AL at GCHS.       

The Track Meet will start at 9:00. No specific time for any events. It depends on how smoothly each event goes.
